Today begins the very informal photography lessons I wanted to post on my website. These are loosely based on a course I created and then taught for two years to middle school kids. This a pared-down version that should be good for anyone new to photography.
What is the best camera to use for photography? Look at the images below and guess if I used a film camera, a DSLR, or my phone.
1.
2.
3.
4.
Do you have your guesses?
Here are the answers.
1. my camera on my phone
2. film camera
3. DSLR
4. DSLR
I have never seen anyone get all four of those correct. And my point is the best camera is the one you have with you. The one you are willing to use and learn its capabilities. The most expensive equipment in the world still has limits. If you know those limits and what your camera can and can’t do then you can make the most of those capabilities.
See you next lesson.
